I would look at the values for the year of the savage your interetsed in. Use NADA values, Blue Book values, all sources of info you can to get a ave cost of the bike. Then decide how much you are willing to pay/can pay. Negotiate from as far below that price as you can upto what you will pay. And don't get over anxious to buy the first bike you see. Shop around ,if you can, at all the dealerships. Just my 2 cents
